Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure was something amazing. This story-coaster takes you through the Forbidden Forest on Hagrid’s famous motorbike seeing all sorts of creatures like Fluffy, devil’s snare, Whomping Willow, and if you’re lucky, you may even see a unicorn.
The creators at Universal planted over 1,000 live trees to make up the forest in order to make it accurate, and it paid off. Everything was very detailed, even the queue. Before you even board your motorbike, you enter the queue. Starting on the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest you enter the woods. Here, you will see two great views of Hogwarts Castle, pass Hagrid’s house, and then enter a large abandoned castle.
You will then enter a small room for the pre-show where Hagrid and Mr. Weasley have a small lesson where you may even see some creatures making some mischief. Make sure to move all the way in and up to the front right. Once you exit the small caves following the pre-show, in the last room before you will board your motorbike, keep your eyes peeled above. You might just catch some creatures crawling above you or maybe even a motorbike racing around.
At last, you will enter the bike. One person will board first onto the bike and then the next will board in the sidecar. I got the chance to ride on top of the bike and I liked how I got to hold onto the bike’s handles and it definitely felt freer, but I heard in the sidecar, you feel more secure and safe. Be aware, if you have long legs, there is a possibility you will not be allowed to ride due to your legs not fitting in the ride. If your torso is long, you should have no problem. It is just the problem of the lap bar not coming down far enough for it to be safe. Because this ride is so fast, you will be asked to place all of your belongings into lockers prior to entering the queue which can be found on both sides of the entrance.
This is definitely a ride for thrill seekers. This ride has no virtual reality, it’s all just a high-speed rollercoaster. In the three minutes and thirty second ride, it launches many times (including one that goes up to 50 miles per hour), goes backwards, and even drops. For those, like me, waiting the entire time for the unexpected to happen, the backwards launch happens after you reach the Whomping Willow tree, and the drop takes place in the devil’s snare. This ride does not go upside down, but it does turn on its side a few times in between launches.
It is the perfect ride for those craving adventure, but also great for those who love Hagrid and his creatures. I hope you enjoy the ride, I sure did.
