Tis the spooky season. What attractions at the different Disney parks are the scariest?
Haunted Mansion
Truly an icon in the parks, and from Halloween through Christmas time, if you walk into New Orleans Square at the Disneyland® Resort or Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland, you’ll find that Jack Skellington and crew have redecorated the halls. A must visit to see what happens when two holidays collide.
The old, Victorian-style house at the edge of Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom is where you should stop. There’s no holiday cheer here—only creepy old crypts and mysterious sights.
The Big Thunder Mesa in Disneyland Paris, stop by the old ranchhouse out on the hill. The restless spirits of the Phantom Manor, are said to still be waiting for a courageous soul to find out what really happened that fateful night owner’s daughters’ wedding never happened.
Pirates of the Caribbean
This iconic Disney attraction takes you on the ride where dead men tell no tales. It can be found in all parks but Hong Kong Disney. A fun boat ride that follows the adventures of a band of pirates. Telling the story of their troubles and exploits. A fun fact, the original Pirates of the Caribbean was the last attraction Walt Disney oversaw. He died three months before it opened.
Tower of Terror
Located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® in Florida and Walt Disney Studios Park in France is an unpredictable thrill ride that will make your heart DROP! This haunted elevator ride is based off the Twilight One series. Mae sure you pay attention to the details in the lobby as you go through the line queue.
Snow White’s Scary Adventures
In the Disneyland® Resort, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris, you can experience the thrills and chills of the animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The is one of the only remaining attractions that was present on opening day at the Disneyland ® Resort in 1955.
Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy
Unique to the Halloween celebrations of Hong Kong Disneyland and the Disneyland® park in Disneyland® Resort, the iconic, domed space station is haunted by ghoulish orbs of light, howling comets and materializing meteors. Shriek in fear inside a wicked wormhole—piercing screams, ghostly music and inhuman sounds echoing all around. This is an essential stop on any creepy attraction crawl, as the special ride experience is only available during the Halloween season.
La Tanière du Dragon
There is something mysterious lurking under the castle at Disneyland Paris. Below the magical exterior of Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant, you can find a monstrous dragon chained against jagged rocks. He is sleeping, but be careful! When he wakes up you’ll find that this dragon has a fiery temper.
Matterhorn Bobsleds
This attraction is not only an iconic Disneyland® Resort landmark, but an adventure of snowy scares as you ride your toboggan through the Abominable Snowman’s icy lair. A newer animatronic version of the Snowman appears at the top, with improved sound effects to help create the illusion that it is in pursuit as the train descends down the mountain.
Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye
Deep within the jungles of Disneyland® Resort’s Adventureland. Giant snakes, spooky skeletons, tumbling boulders, and more await you on this thrilling journey that’s so detailed, you’ll feel like you’ve really entered the world of Indiana Jones
Maze of Madness: The Nightmare Experiment Continues
Last Halloween, the crazed Professor took guests on a mind-bending experience. The Nightmare Experiment is an exclusive walkthrough attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland for the Disney Halloween Time Event. The maze returned in September 14, 2017 as Maze of Madness: The Nightmare Experiment Continues. It all begins when you venture into his lab of horrors. Avoid being trapped in Stromboli’s Wagon as a living marionette alongside Pinocchio. Flee in fright in the Monster’s Inc.’s Scare Floor and keep from losing your mind at the Mad Hatter’s shop.
