My name is Josh Koontz and I became a fan of Disney travel on my first trip to Disney World. I loved amusement parks, but this was a whole new level and a true escape from the everyday world. As I continue to go back with family, friends and on my own I’ve come to notice the level of detail as well as the level of service at Disney destinations. As my love of Disney destinations has grown I find that I’m reading, listening to podcasts and learning all that I can about the parks and destinations that Disney has to offer. Fort Wayne, IN

The location for the city was chosen because of its proximity to three rivers: the Maumee, the St. Joseph, and the St. Marys. The area was the capital of the Miami tribe, and they called it Kekionga.

Fort Wayne was founded on October 22, 1794, when US troops captured the Wabash-Erie portage from the Miami and built a fort named for their general, "mad" Anthony Wayne.
